My son and his fiance just left with the new car seat I purchased for her. She is due this next month and does not have much in the way of baby supplies. She is a hard working single Mom trying to take care of her babies. Unfortunately the one she has in the oven has an absent father. He found out she was pregnant and waved adios. He is 10 years older than she is, works for the RR, and makes damn good money. I hope she goes after him for child support. That will help her out a lot and he needs to take responsibility for the child. You play, you pay, as the old saying goes.
I will probably be going to my daughter's this weekend to visit again and pick up some baby items that she is willing to contribute to the cause, so to speak. She has two little boys and friends with boys so hopefully between the two of us we can help the Fiance out with some stuff to get her started.
Work this week was absurdly busy. While it pays the bills there are days I don't truly appreciate how significantly the chaos contributes to my pocketbook.
Today was a gorgeous day. The sun was out and the skies were blue. It was cold but there was sunshine people!! SO worth the cold to have the blue skies. Tomorrow is bringing freezing fog and more clouds. How do I count the ways that thrills me................
I was hoping to get out into the sunshine and hike or walk tomorrow. I'm not sure that will happen. Maybe the weather will be better at the kids. It seems to most always be better than ours.
The roommate is not home yet. I'm sure she went to the local hang out to have a beer or two with her homies. She is quite social and has built a nice repore with the owner and regulars.
It is quiet here at the ole' homestead, which is nice. No street noise, no honking horns or revving cars. I could get used to this :-)
