So far today has been pleasant. Took advantage of the 'fall back' and slept a little longer. Am currently doing laundry and some time today will do dishes and clean this 'ole house.
I am thinking of taking in a room mate after the first of the year. From everything I hear the economy is not done tanking yet and I don't want to be caught in the crunch when it happens. Time to prepare.
I was watching someone extreme coupon today and I need to do that. I need to learn how to do that. There are all kinds of video's on YouTube and such. Time to learn a new skill :-)

I've only watched the program a couple times....the extremes they go to just smacks of greed to me. I could never figure out how in the world they could use some of those perishables before they expired when they bought them in such huge quantities. A friend of mine may have cleared that question up for me a bit. She has a neighbor who is into this extreme couponing. This woman brings her loot home and stores it all in her basement and garage....then she resells it to her neighbors, for a profit of course. So now it's clear...they are buying to resell it and make money. I wonder how much extra money one can make doing something like that? Probably more than we would ever guess. Lots of work involved unless you can get some strong men to unload it and bring it all in for you. I figure all these excesses will cause stores to put a limit on coupons...either the stores will or the manufacturers of the products will. The one program I watched did make me feel good because the guy doing it donated hundreds of boxes of cereal that he got for free or almost free (can't remember) to his church for the needy.
I've seen several shows where the person doing the extreme couponing donated a good bit of what they got to charity. There is a blessing int here somewhere :-)
The few extreme couponers that I know all donate their perishables to charity where they'll be used. I think those that resell are the exception rather than the rule.
I think it's unfair to say it's greed. They aren't breaking any rules, they're using them in the most advantageous way. It's like saying those of us who only shop sales are being greedy for not paying full price.
Not all couponers go to extremes like the show. That's why it's called "Extreme Couponers". Many DO stockpile up to 6 months out because that's they cycle of the sales.
Mom, I'll send you a good link for learning to coupon and she teaches classes for like $5 and canned good donation(that go to shelters or batter women kits ect). When she teaches in Portland, there's no fee. It's to cover gas and print off materials. I really liked her course. I can email you my notes from when I took it if you like.
