What is a friend? By Websters definition:
1. A person you know well and regard with affection and trust.
2. An associate who provides cooperation or assistance.
3. A person with whom you are acquainted.
We call those we work with friends. Those we befriend here in the blogesphere. Those who we know on a very superficial level.
I would call someone I work with a co-worker. There are a few whom I would call friend. If I hang out with them outside the workplace. If we have a lot in common and are able to have friendly conversations. If I trust them, and they trust me enough to share pieces of their lives. Clues as to who they are and what is important to them.
Those I meet here I would call friend. Most of us have never met, never spoken in person, yet somehow have allowed ourselves to bond. Whether that has been through life experience, sharing pieces of who we are, or simply feeling accepted in an environment and atmosphere of camaraderie and sameness.
How accepting are we of each other truly? Would you invite them to sleep on your couch? To vacation in your home town? To meet your family without fear of harm?
What connects you to others?
If you read this blog I would really love to hear your opinion. Enlighten me :-)

Lee,
I have so many things I want to say here, but man, I am feeling so rough right now. (I had the trial stimulator put in yesterday, frankly this morning, I feel like a damned 18 wheeler ran me over, backed up, and did it again.
This is a good subject tho, and I will respond. Maybe by email.
Hugs honey. Hope you're good. How is the work thing going? xo J.
Jamie, I think people thought this was a bid for somewhere to go, like a trick question. Actually it was as innocent as it sounds. Just a subject I was thinking about.
Just checking in on you! :)
Very nice blog.
Happy new year to you from Italy.
